We are changing lives one surgery at a time.

CURE’s medical and ministry teams provide world-class care to the patients and families we serve across our hospital network. They are highly skilled and well-trained, and many are internationally recognized within their fields. Less than 5 percent of our more than 1,200 hospital employees are expatriate workers.

CURE hospitals are filled with medical, administrative, and ministry teams committed to helping kids heal and sharing the love of Jesus.

Where are they trained?

All CURE’s healthcare workers are professionally trained and certified in their fields.

Are they full-time employees or missionaries?

All hospital staff are full- or part-time employees.

Do CURE hospitals partner with government and international organizations?

CURE partners with national and international programs for ongoing staff training and training new healthcare workers.

CURE’s Medical Roles

These roles serve to provide physical care to children with treatable disabilities.

Medical Director

Each hospital has a medical director who is responsible for the overall medical care of each child.

Anesthesiologist

Each hospital has an anesthesiologist to supervise patient care and pain management before, during, and after surgery, ensuring patient safety.

Pediatrician

Staff pediatricians provide medical care to patients, prepare them for surgery, and advise surgical teams.

Nurse Manager

Nursing managers oversee the dedicated team that provides pre- and post-operative care for patients.

Orthopedic Surgeon

Orthopedic surgeons treat conditions that affect bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles—like clubfoot and bowed legs.

Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon

Plastic surgeons specialize in repairing conditions that affect the skin, facial structures, and extremities—like cleft lip/palate and scarring from burns.

Neurosurgeon

Surgeons at CURE Uganda specialize in lifesaving neurosurgical procedures for children with conditions like hydrocephalus, spina bifida, and brain tumors.

Physical Therapist

Physical therapists assist children with exercises that strengthen their muscles and improve mobility after surgery.

Speech Therapist

Speech therapists diagnose and treat problems with speaking, swallowing, and cognition, which is especially important for children recovering from cleft lip/palate surgeries.
